Vacuum thermal treatment (for dies and tools)

Vacuum thermal treatment (for dies and tools)

Enables vacuum quenching of dies, tools, and parts.

Vacuum thermal treatment (for dies and tools)

Thermal treatment using a vacuum furnace has the effect of reducing distortion.

Thermal treatment using a vacuum furnace has the effect of reducing distortion due to the characteristics of the cooling method. If you have trouble with distortion, please try this treatment once.

Vacuum quenching of die steel, high-speed steel, and stainless steel is possible even for a small amount.

The following shows the materials suitable for vacuum quenching (bright quenching) and general hardness standards.

Material SKD-11 SKD-61 SUS440C SUS420J-2 SKH51
Hardness (HRC) 58 to 62 48 to 52 52 to 56 50 to 54 60 to 64

*The hardness is a standard. The shape and size of the product to be processed may vary depending on the intended use. Please contact us for details.

We perform not only vacuum quenching but also various types of thermal treatment.

Annealing

Precipitation hardening treatment

  • Stress relief annealing
    Spheroidizing
    Low-temperature annealing
    Softening
    Various types of annealing
  • Precipitation hardening treatment is available mainly for SUS630.
One-chamber type vacuum furnace suitable for heat treatment of molds, tools and small parts

We have installed a vacuum furnace suitable for thermal treatment of dies, tools, and small parts.

Three-chamber vacuum furnaces are suitable for stainless steel tapping screws and drill screws because they can perform treatment in a relatively short period and in large quantities, whereas, single-chamber vacuum furnaces, which perform treatment from quenching to tempering in a single process, are suitable for thick materials such as dies and tools.

Advantages of a single-chamber vacuum furnace

  • ・Effective for a small production lot with a wide variety of products.
  • ・Enables control of distortion with sufficient preheating.
  • ・Allows treatment from quenching to tempering to be performed in a single process.
